Hello, Cedar and Silver fans and followers! I’m excited to tell you everything about the Gymnogyps Californinus. The name Gymnogyps Californinus is Greek. Gymnogyps means “bare vulture,” and Californinus or California is the first place where people saw them. We will call the Gymnogyps Californinus by its commonly known name, which is the California Condor. Think of this New World Vulture as a pre-historic … Read More California Condors by Lilya Blue

Wanderin’ about Washington.
It's a gorgeous weekend on the Olympic Peninsula, so it's not surprising that everyone wants to be here. What do you think it will look like past tomorrow? My guess is five RV’s, and that is counting three in our caravan.
Our 238 square feet feels different. After almost three years living in this small space, I felt the need for a refresh. I used to have a house that was over 5000 sq. ft. Any change was a significant undertaking that cost 10’s of thousands of dollars. One of the best things about tiny living is the ability to update your whole space with just a few items: pillows, a new rug, some fresh wall art, and a change of throw blankets.
What is your favorite thing about Summer? I’ve always enjoyed the longer daylight hours, but the Milky Way in Summer is incredible.
Between the last photo and this one, I’ve hiked to the top of a volcano to watch the sunrise, looked into an animal's eyes, while shooting the Milky Way, traveled the Lost Coast, and dropped my camera in the sea. I can’t wait to share all of this with you! Today I woke up in Gold Beach, Oregon, one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the 48. Full hookups, a good shower, and a reset to sort the camera and such. In the meantime, enjoy this photo, shot on my iPhone📱
“You may be a little cold some nights on mountain tops above the timber-line, but you will see the stars, and by and by you can sleep enough in your town bed or at least in your grave. Keep awake while you may in mountain mansions so rare.”
#sponsored • What does it take to tow your home to the most spectacular views in the country? Confidence. Confidence in knowing that when you leave the pavement, you have the power needed to deal with almost anything that comes your way. Ram does that.
Our tiny house is powered by the sun.☀️ We have ran all the things and charged a host of devices. We've powered the convection oven, blow dryer, Instant Pot, and occasionally a curling iron when we are feelin’ fancy all off nothing but our solar set up. Yes, we have a generator. No, we haven't used it in months. 😁 ☀️⚡️

3 Palm Trees, 2 Airstreams, 1 Ocean = Perfect Weekend!
It’s Monday, again. Anyone else feel like 2021 is flying by, and the weekends need to be longer? Maybe we were all forced to slow down a little in 2020 and while no one wants to go through that again, maybe shaking up the pace wasn’t so bad. 🤷🏼♀️
Southern California in the summer with no advanced reservations? 😳 Almost impossible, but with the right friends, persistence, and some good luck, we have managed to continue our stay right on the beach for nearly two months now. These beach camp vibes are still going strong.
Super Flower Blood Moon. Last week, @tincanadventure and I ventured back to our spot above the clouds. It’s a hairy drive, and nowhere near Airstream compatible, so we spent the night in the @wanderhouseoutdoors tent. We had an epic sunset on the way up, popped some cold brews to calm the nerves from the drive, then woke early to catch the moon. The cloud layer was thick, and at first, we couldn’t even see the moon, but it peaked out long enough to get a few shots. As I was looking through them later, I noticed a tiny spot in one of the frames. At first, I thought it was a speck on my camera sensor, but then I zoomed in and discovered this tiny plane. What a view that must have been for the pilot! Even though the conditions weren’t ideal, it was still a great adventure with good company. Can’t beat that!!
Happy Memorial Day. As you enjoy time with friends and family, don't forget to take a moment to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. 🙏🏼 We would personally like to honor our friends @noa_the_airstream_, who recently joined our caravan. Frank, we are so grateful for your service, and Xiomara, I know your strength pulls you through those long deployments. It’s been wonderful getting to caravan with you. Te amamos como familia. 🤗
Who’s ready for a long weekend? 🙋🏼♀️
Some experiences are hard to capture in one square. At first glance, this may look like any other sunrise. Look closer.
The first two photos are what I ‘think’ I look like doing yoga. The last two are what I really look like doing yoga. 😂
Oh, the places we have been. When we started our Airstream adventure, we had only planned to be on the road for a year. We quickly realized that a year wasn't long enough to truly experience all the incredible places in our country. Two and a half years later, we still find gems we had never heard of that blow our minds. 🤯 There is still a thrill on travel days, but some places are so unique, we are sad to leave. Then I remind myself that we can always come back. Nothing is time-boxed, we are on #airstreamtime 😊
