We got the call today! Our Airstream has come off the line from Jackson Center, OH and has arrived at RVOne in Des Moines, IA. I was pretty frustrated a couple of weeks ago with the delay but both Airstream and RVOne have been great in working to make the best of the situation. Mistakes happen but the effort to get it right is … Read More Our silver ship is almost ready to sail!

Alumapalooza! After almost three years on the road full-time, we decided it was time to make a visit to Jackson Center and attend our first rally. While some things had to be canceled due to Covid, it was still a great event! We combined it with a service appointment at Airstream to take care of some warranty work. We left even more passionate about the Airstream community and the company. Thanks to the fantastic @airstream_inc employees for taking such good care of us and the whole crew @alumaevents for coordinating a great rally.
It’s not just a trailer. It’s a lifestyle.💖
Guess where we have been for the last week? We took our first pilgrimage to Airstream in Jackson Center, Ohio. We’ve had some work done, and though it hasn’t been entirely smooth, the people that work here are incredible and have done so much to make everything right. I really can’t say enough about the service techs that have been working on Walden!! We are back in our home just in time for #alumapalooza
Welcome to the weekend! Where are you enjoying the final days of summer?
Let's talk about kids on the road.
Yesterday in my stories, I asked for everyone to sit under the stars last night. Did you do it? If so, tell me about the experience. Not just the stars, but the magic, the sounds, and how it made you feel.
Every time I look at the ding in this bumper, I think about getting it fixed. But then why bother? I’ll probably bend it again.
Welcome to the weekend! Summer will be winding down soon, so get out there and enjoy every last minute of it! Hopefully, you score a nice view, a cool breeze, and good friends to share it with.⛱🕶🍺
Boondocker Travel Day Tips!
We have been so lucky to have mild weather for the last two months when so many places have been sweltering in 90-100 degree weather. Between the Oregon Coast and the Olympic Peninsula, we have managed to stay relatively comfortable, which has been great for hiking. Even so, I prefer the coolness of sunrise hikes. It’s hard to get up early, but once we are going, it feels great.
Wanderin’ about Washington.
It's a gorgeous weekend on the Olympic Peninsula, so it's not surprising that everyone wants to be here. What do you think it will look like past tomorrow? My guess is five RV’s, and that is counting three in our caravan.
Our 238 square feet feels different. After almost three years living in this small space, I felt the need for a refresh. I used to have a house that was over 5000 sq. ft. Any change was a significant undertaking that cost 10’s of thousands of dollars. One of the best things about tiny living is the ability to update your whole space with just a few items: pillows, a new rug, some fresh wall art, and a change of throw blankets.
What is your favorite thing about Summer? I’ve always enjoyed the longer daylight hours, but the Milky Way in Summer is incredible.
Between the last photo and this one, I’ve hiked to the top of a volcano to watch the sunrise, looked into an animal's eyes, while shooting the Milky Way, traveled the Lost Coast, and dropped my camera in the sea. I can’t wait to share all of this with you! Today I woke up in Gold Beach, Oregon, one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the 48. Full hookups, a good shower, and a reset to sort the camera and such. In the meantime, enjoy this photo, shot on my iPhone📱
“You may be a little cold some nights on mountain tops above the timber-line, but you will see the stars, and by and by you can sleep enough in your town bed or at least in your grave. Keep awake while you may in mountain mansions so rare.”

Our tiny house is powered by the sun.☀️ We have ran all the things and charged a host of devices. We've powered the convection oven, blow dryer, Instant Pot, and occasionally a curling iron when we are feelin’ fancy all off nothing but our solar set up. Yes, we have a generator. No, we haven't used it in months. 😁 ☀️⚡️
